There have been pluses to Covid-19! One of them was our quickly executed pivot to online training, setting a record for the number of events run in a single year, and having trainees from around the globe attend – we even had an Aussie dial in to one of our UK based courses! Collectively, there were over 25 online courses completed, which certainly kept the whole team busy with everyone contributing.
Moving into 2021 we will be continuing online training and hope to recommence in-person classroom training in the second half of the year, but without doubt online training is here to stay and we plan to offer a mix going forward. The training schedule to July 2021, summarised below, has been locked in and other courses will be added as the year progresses. The Training page will be updated with the courses below in the coming weeks.
The most significant change we are making relates to our ever popular "Introduction to TUFLOW" course. We are transitioning the course to a hybrid e-Learning format that users can access on-demand.
By hybrid we mean that, attendees will be given access to all recorded presentation and hands-on exercises to complete in their own time via the guided e-Learning portal, but we still wish to maintain some personal interaction with our trainers, so regular time slots will be made available for trainees to connect with TUFLOW experts via a Zoom conference call for a face-to-face Q&A time. And, of course, if trainees have any questions or issues they can always contact training@tuflow.com between these sessions.
In summary, 2020 was a very satisfying year. Transitioning to the online format so quickly was initially daunting, but made easier by the good nature and great feedback from all the people who joined us during the virtual training sessions. We are excited to build on this year’s success by introducing new advanced topics to next year’s schedule, and developing the new e-Learning Introductory course.
From the whole TUFLOW Team, whether it be virtually or face-to-face, we look forward to interacting and teaching everyone again in 2021!
