We're delighted to announce that the TUFLOW team, together with Edenvale Young, have released the draft programme agenda for the 2025 TUFLOW UK/Europe User Conference which is now available for viewing here. We hope you can see the diverse range of presenters from a wide range of organisations talking about the challenges that those working in the flood risk industry are addressing under the theme 'The Human Element' and how we might inspire others.
The conference, on the 20th-21st May 2025 at the MSHED Bristol, will have it's keynote address by Professor Anusha Shah, 159th President of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Of course, this is a conference for users of the software so we will also have presentations from TUFLOW Users showcasing the innovative application of the software within the industry. The TUFLOW team will also be providing an insight into the wide range of features that have been added to the software for the 2025 release including the newly released TUFLOW CATCH. There will be workshop sessions on demystifying TUFLOW FV as well as sessions from TUFLOW partners.
Tickets can be obtained from here with an option to pay by credit/debit card.
As part of the user conference, Duncan Kitts and Russell Gardner, from the TUFLOW UK team will be running a hands on TUFLOW FV Workshop. The workshop aims to demystify TUFLOW FV by utilising open tools to quickly design an efficient flexible mesh without the daunting methodology of old, employing python scripts to automate the collection, collation and conversion of meteorological data from the European Centre for Medium Weather Forecast (ECMWF) ERA5 dataset as input into the TUFLOW FV as boundary conditions and the use of the QGIS and python tools for the subsequent results analysis.
The workshop will be run through 3 sessions, where each session builds on the previous session but can be undertaken as a standalone workshop. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops along and build their own TUFLOW FV model with the provided datasets. Access to the neccesary TUFLOW FV licences will be provided for the workshop and for 1 month after the workshop to allow attendees to continue their learning after the conference.
The individual sessions will cover:
Session 1
Session 2
Session 3
