We are pleased to announce that we are currently in the final development and testing phases for our TUFLOW Classic / HPC and TUFLOW FV 2022 releases. In preparation for the respective software releases, we are scheduling in person events in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Two event types are being offered, a new release workshop and hands-on training session. Workshops will be presentation style, providing an overview of all the new features. Hands-on training is an opportunity for modellers to implement the new features under the guidance of the senior TUFLOW staff.
In addition to the in-person events we have recently completed a major overhaul of our self-teach datasets, updated to the latest TUFLOW release. We have also scheduled a number of online courses.
We have completed and published a full revision of our TUFLOW HPC Wiki Self-teach Tutorials. The revision aligns the dataset with current industry best practice using TUFLOW’s latest features, also transitioning to the HPC solver. The documentation is also new, both in content, style and structure. All tutorial documentation now includes demonstration video snippets throughout to help streamline your self-guided learning experience.
We have updated our TUFLOW FV Self-teach Tutorials to align with the latest version of SMS. We plan to further develop this dataset to also work with the new FV interface for SMS and the GIS Mesher in early 2023. GIS Mesher is a GIS compatible flexible mesh development tool. Used in combination with QGIS, it is a fully functioning TUFLOW FV model build and result viewing environment alternative to SMS.
New TUFLOW HPC Wiki Example Models. The example dataset provides simple demonstration of the most used TUFLOW model features. Subsequently, this latest revision increases the number of example models contained within the database from 80 to 140! As per the self-teach tutorial update, our recent revision of the example models has transitioned from TUFLOW Classic to TUFLOW HPC.
Throughout 2022 we have continued our free monthly webinars hosted via the Australian Water School. Visit TUFLOW Webinars to register for future webinars or watch past recordings.
Online introductory and model quality control training have also been scheduled.
Links to the upcoming TUFLOW education events are provided below. We hope you find these new resources useful. We look forward to catching up with everyone at the in-person and online events later this year.
Sincerely the TUFLOW Team
