Duncan Kitts, TUFLOW’s UK/Europe Lead, will present online the latest developments in 2D flood modelling on February 2nd at 11:15 (GMT) at Scotland’s premier annual Flood Risk Management conference, FRM2021.
The presentation will review hydraulic modelling over the last 50 years and provide insights into TUFLOW’s recent, industry leading R&D that is shaping the future of hydraulic modelling and its application in flood risk management.
Over the last 50 years, hydraulic modelling has developed significantly and what was thought aspirational just 10 years ago is now commonplace. Hydraulic modelling can now be used to accurately assess multiple sources of flood water simultaneously and on large spatial scales.
The recent advancements that have been developed within TUFLOW have far-reaching and wide-ranging benefits, considerably removing the remaining uncertainty and limitations inherent in hydraulic modelling; thereby increasing the accuracy of: determining property flood damages; risk to life; and assessing benefits of flood mitigation measures and natural flood management practices.
FRM2021 is Scotland’s leading flood risk management conference, hosted by Sniffer, an independent charity that promotes scientific research on the protection and enhancement of the natural environment. This year’s conference will be a virtual event, from February 1st through to February 5th. To see the full schedule and to register for the event, click here.
